LKPR and Prague - Basic Info
  • Prague is the Capital of the Czech Republic.
  • Our President has an office here, at the Prague Castle. Do not cross it below FL 60, he does not like it. (see Charts)
  • LKPR (Prague Ruzyne Airport ) is the biggest International Airport in The Czech Republic. There are three Runways 06/24, 13/31 and 04/22. Main Runway is RWY 06/24. Most popular Approach is ILS Approach RWY24 via RASIM or ETATU. But sometimes ask the Controller for VOR-DME Approach on RWY 13. You will make him happy and maybe busy too. Dont use the RWY13 for departures between 2200-0600 local time due to the noise limitations, some people are sleeping.
  • RWY 04/22 is permanently closed because the American Community living in Nebusice, luxury Village near the Airport, was screaming so loudly, that the Regional Authority has decided to close it. Do not try to land there. The Runway is now used as a Parking for huge Planes like the Mrias or the Globemasters.
